Chipset and Bus

The EVGA Z77 FTW uses the Intel Z77 Express Chipset. This chipset has native USB 3.0 and native SATA 6G support directly off the controller for the best performance, support and stability today.
The EVGA Z77 FTW motherboard supports PCI-E 3.0 performance via a PLX 8747 PCI-E 3.0 certified bridge chip. This allows the EVGA Z77 FTW to populate all PCI-E 3.0 slots at the maximum bandwidth possible. The PCI-E lane configuration is as follows:

1 Card: x16
2 Cards: x16 – x16 (Slot 2 & Slot 4)
3 Cards: x8 - x16 - x16
4 Cards: x8 - x16 - x8 - x8
